NOV. 25, 2008: Discussion of Islamofascism by representative from Act for America. Carl Goldberg, Chairman of local Phoenix Chapter, will present facts on the growth of fanatical followers of Islam at the November 25th meeting.
Throughout its history, Islam has never recognized a distinction between religious and civil authority. Sharia law governs every aspect of religious, political, and personal life—amounting to a form of totalitarianism analogous to Communism.
This is a creeping threat in America at this time and therefore is a timely topic for learning and discussing. All are welcome and refreshments will be served!
No meeting in December.
January 2009: Annual Meeting—Election of Officers for 2-year terms of office. Need candidates for Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary. Only paid members may run for office or vote for officers. |

MEETING |
|
Club Chairman, Sandy Doty, has agreed to run for Chairman of Maricopa County Republican Committee. Since this is such a big job, she cannot possibly carry on the duties of Sun Lakes Republican Club Chairman. This means that other members of the club will need to step up to the plate and take the reins.
This entails running a monthly meeting for 7-8 months of a non-election year; being a point of contact for Republicans with questions about the party and elected officials; helping organize interesting programs; and getting committees to assist with public relations and refreshments. Sandy will gladly assist with a transition so that the new chairman and officers can painlessly slide into their positions.
We are also looking for a webmaster, public relations person and someone to keep up the mailing/phone lists.
